Goodbye Dover

It’s been a while since my last post, definitely too long. The trouble is, with work and other commitments it’s nice to sometimes relax. I have been taking photos throughout the time you haven’t heard from me, but just sometimes it’s nice to take photos and let them speak for themselves.

It comes to a point, as a photographer where you wish people would see photos as art. People can pass by so many scenes that to a photographic eye could look amazing.

Dover is full of amazing photos, while working there it’s hard to find many of them. Although this one caught my eye on the journey and it just shows that one person doing something might not be as powerful as a collective. These are admission stickers to Dover castle that have been stuck on the back of a road sign close to the car park.

It shows how people want to leave a part of them there, be a part of something and feel like they belong.

Maybe you alone can’t make a difference, but if everyone thought that then there really would only be one guy shouting to get his voice heard.

Your fuel, refuel

This was the scene yesterday at the Brighton marathon finish, where runners had just run over 26 miles. Personally, I think they’re crazy!

The looks on faces going past of pain, pride, and even relief made it worthwhile to everyone helping there.

A lot were just pleased it was over I think, and some just wanted to lay down.

Personally I think a marathon is a real test on your mental perseverance than your fitness. It doesn’t matter what time you finish, but finishing is the ultimate goal.

This should be a lot of people’s outlook on life, it’s not always a race to do things first or finish before someone else but achieving the same goal and helping each other out along the way.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race

Glow orb

These glow balls bring back many memories of weekends with friends as a child, messing around in a park knowing that we had the whole swing set to ourselves. Throwing glow sticks around playing catch.

I was surprised to see these on a night out, but it’s weird what sort of memories little things trigger.

The light in this photo, showing the bubbles of air that highlight the glow from the chemicals even more. It shows the darkness in life highlights the good memories.

There are many sayings that tell you that you can’t always have it good.

You wouldn’t appreciate the sun as much if it didn’t rain

Society gets social

So the other night, the event society held a ‘spring break’ themed night at the union bar, and it looked amazing!

The room was decorated in red, white and blue of course. There were ‘Jello shots’ which were probably a little more alcoholic than the drinks behind the bar!

Everyone that went had a great night. The ballon drop above went off a storm and the music was enjoyed by everyone. Sums the night up awesomely.

Let your hair down once in a while
